Came by after getting home to town. Of course we had to order the pork baked rice and crispy noodles. Once he said down, we ordered our drinks, I got the Hong Kong style milk, tea and a friend got iced lemon tea. Food came out pretty quick and always taste pretty authentic. Tons of parking. Staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here for your Hong Kong cuisine fix.

5/5 stars. After trying the new Hong Kong Cafe near Puente Hills shopping mall and then coming here to try the original/older location here in Walnut, I would say that I just became a fan of their Hong Kong Cafe foods now, no matter the location. Both are decent in pricing and you get a new experience each time. Food quality and service is just outstanding and unique for casual Hong Kong style street foods. We absolutely enjoyed visiting. Cute decorations as usual. Good vibes and generous menu selections. Yes, authentic and legit in food quality, food presentation, portions, taste, etc. This location has more customers and can get pretty busy and loud inside with customers talking out loud/Cantonese style. Plenty of tables and chairs available. Male staffers are experienced. This location doesn't have as many TVs turned on, but it's definitely original. Beef noodles with veggies was legit. Iced HK milk tea & iced watermelon beverages were good. Chicken steak spaghetti with cheese was baked in good hot dish. It's definitely a casual place for all your favorite Hong Kong foods. Chefs are good and everyone seems passionate about their jobs. You can feel it's a happy Cantonese street cafe. Inexpensive and quite affordable. I would eat at Hong Kong Cafe locations instead of Delicious Food Court chain which includes breakfast items too, but much pricier there. Vibes are more hometown style here. You can easily chat up a storm with servers if you can speak Cantonese or Mandarin. We will be coming back next time. Delicious.

Yummy food! Good service! Telephone box is that extra fun little detail. Great place to eat!

The lemon tea tastes great! We had the pork chop with noodles--very yummy. My kids loved it too. Will come back again!

Amazing food. The restaurant is clean and the waiter and waitresses were very friendly. Over all the experience was good and at Great prices.

Pretty decent Cantonese/Hong Kong style cafe that offers a pretty big menu that you typically find in the heart of the SGV. I would prefer Delcious food corner as the quality here isn't as good, but this will satisfy the cravings of you're looking for baked rice dishes, chow fun, egg waffles etc. The only dish I do not recommend is the fatty beef with XO sauce. I took gamble and ordered an item without a picture and it turned out to be boiled brisket sliced over a ton of bean sprouts. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't order again. The crispy chow mein was good as they fried the noodles better than Delicious food corner. They were able to accommodate and sub the beef for chicken. All the chicken here is thigh meat. The popcorn chicken was a bit dry. Overall fast, affordable, and hardly a wait for seating even though it seems busy for a Friday night.

The food is amazing, me and my family have probably gone here 100x already.. the owners know that we are regulars haha.. definitely recommend Pork Cutlet Curry . The people are amazing as well all in all great vibes and great food! Also try out the Thai Oreo Crunch haha Try to ask for Raymond great guy! Fun guy to be around

【Background】 Friday, February 14, 2025, 1:20 PM Not sure if anybody else does this, but sometimes, I like to scroll through the Yelp app before I fall asleep to see which restaurants are being recommended by my algorithm. I came across a review describing the lunch special at Hong Kong Cafe, so I decided to visit the next day. I'm assuming Hong Kong Cafe was recently rebranded from a restaurant called MJ Cafe since the website URL and the receipts still use the old name. The inside was decently packed even though it was during the tail end of lunch. (Maybe because it was a Friday and/or Valentine's Day.) There was a good amount of seating, so I was still seated immediately. The decor is fun with brightly colored walls, signs, and decorations, contrasting with the minimal white tables and light wood chairs. 【Food】 Menu: https://mjcafetogo.com/order/ Similar to other cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) in the San Gabriel Valley, Hong Kong Cafe boasts of a pretty large selection with the numbering for the food options almost going up to 100. And the entire backside of the menu is dedicated to all their beverages. For the lunch special menu, available from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM, there are six entree options, and you get to choose one drink from the limited selection. Originally, I was thinking of ordering the hot and spicy beef tripe and tendon rice platter since I love tripe, but I ultimately ordered: * Minced pork and fried egg rice platter ($14.99) For this dish, you can go with either the mild or spicy option. I ordered it at a medium spice level and decided to get the grass jelly drink. My food came out after about 10 minutes. The saucy minced pork, sliced green chili peppers, and onion chunks covered the white rice. A golden sunny-side up egg laid on top of everything. I did notice that my order didn't have a sprinkling of furikake like other pictures on Yelp. Everything tasted great. The dish was savory and slightly sweet. Every so often, I'd eat a green chili pepper slice, adding some heat to the meal and making my nose run a little; good thing the lunch special came with a drink. My drink had a slightly bitter tea base while the grass jelly added a mild sweetness; it's a good option if you don't like overly saccharine beverages. The cool, refreshing drink helped calm everything down. Overall, my order had a decent amount of food. Some reviews say the lunch specials are a generous size and can be shared between two people, but if you're a big eater like me, you can definitely finish one entree by yourself. The lunch special is a decent deal if you usually order a drink with your food. However, I usually just drink water, so I would probably order à la carte next time. 【Service】 The service was just okay. The two employees were extremely busy, multitasking with the many takeout orders while helping dine-in customers. And only one of them spoke English, so to order my food, I had to wait for him. But the food did come out relatively fast. The workers didn't really check up on me. The lid to my drink wasn't closed all the way, so it spilled a little, and I wanted more napkins. Additionally, after finishing my food and waiting a bit for the bill, I finally went up to the counter to ask for it, so you might have to be assertive to get the check. The employees were definitely swamped since I noticed the people at the table next to me waited for maybe 25 minutes, and nobody ever took their order, so they got up and left. And one worker profusely apologized to the table behind me for the long wait. 【Parking】 Parking was easy since the restaurant is located in a large plaza with tons of parking spots.

Nicely decorated place. They have decorations of their name on the wall, a cute telephone booth, their cups and tablesetting were all customized. Service was decent. Better than your typical dim sum type service but wouldn't classify it as amazing service. Food: overall decent Steamed egg yolk buns: nice size, well steamed, tasty sweet inside, well worth it Congee: not bad, hard to mess up, they went heavy on the ginger which I prefer less of Beef noodles: not bad but not enough soy sauce flavoring, texture of noodles was good and the beef not overcooked but the flavors of the noodle were lacking HK milk tea: not enough condensed milk but requested for more and problem was solved Overall not a bad spot. Menu may not have been as diverse as other places. I was impressed by the decorations. Have had better spots but enjoyed it. Food: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 4/5
